DOUBLE JAB hit the gate to lose a step at the start, challenged from outside and took over from DOUBLE JAB in the early going, cleared that rival at the three-eighths pole, challenged by that rival at the quarter pole, kicked clear again at the top of the lane, drew away to the sixteenth pole and held safely over the runner-up. UNCLE CHILLY was taken in hand early and dropped back to last while moving inside, saved ground through the turn, tipped out a bit into the stretch, had to pause to avoid running up on the heels of a weakening HOT BOX in upper stretch, altered out into the clear, finished well in deep stretch but could not threaten the winner. CHROMEFLASH unhurried in the beginning and moved off the inside, drew closer between rivals, chased two wide around the bend, drifted out a bit in the final furlong and lost second. WINDRIBBON stalked along the inside leaving the backstretch, steadied behind a troubled HOT BOX and got shuffled back on the turn, remained inside to the stretch and lacked a rally. HAVOC settled four deep in the early going, moved into the two path approaching the turn, tipped three wide past the quarter pole and could not rally. HOT BOX away quickly from outside then dueled inside DOUBLE JAB, got crowded by that rival and steadied at the three-eighths pole, tipped out and re-bid at the quarter pole, failed to sustain the challenge in upper stretch and faded in the furlong grounds. POTITO unhurried in the beginning, moved into range three deep on the backstretch, navigated the turn three to four wide also faded.
