Footnotes
LEAD PIPE JOE stalked between up the backstretch, drew closer while weaving to the rail then back to the two path to challenge from outside past the quarter pole, kicked clear in upper stretch and drew off under right handed urging and steady handling. MUTT DILLIN grabbed the early lead and set the pace up the backstretch, led along the rail through the turn, confronted by LEAD PIPE JOE past the quarter pole, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and stayed on to best the others. CODE BREAKER chased well off the inside at the back then moved into the three path entering the turn, tried to split foes but lacked room at the three-eighths pole, split foes shortly after, chased two to three wide turning for home, drifted to the inside and gained third. MASTER JACQUES stalked three deep, chased four wide into the lane and lacked a bid. SAWTOOTH BOW got bumped and crowded between rivals leaving the gate, trailed under coaxing on the inside into the turn, moved to the two path at the quarter pole, offered a mild response and passed tired rivals down the lane. GENERAL JACKSON raced up close to the outside of the pacesetter, chased two then three wide around the bend, fought a lead change from upper to midstretch and weakened in the late stages. OSCAR'S MARK broke out and brushed SAWTOOTH BOW, stalked from inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend and tired. EASY BREEZY broke in and brushed, saved ground from off the pace and lacked the needed response. SOUL MUSIC sat off the pace in the opening stages, rounded the bend in the three path, tipped out further in the lane and came up empty. BREAKING DESIRE raced near the back outside a pair of rivals, took the turn five wide and was never a factor.
