Footnotes
MAJOR TOM forwardly placed in the early going, moved into the two path for the turn, bid three wide leaving the bend, gained the lead at the three-sixteenths pole, put NO D'ORO away then had to duel with BIG DON'S SMILING through the final furlong, lost command briefly in deep stretch but dug in to edge the runner-up in the closing moments. BIG DON'S SMILING raced up close from inside, challenged inside rivals at the top of the lane, dueled with MAJOR TOM down the stretch, drifted out slightly from left handed urging in the final sixteenth while putting a nose in front briefly and narrowly missed. MR. FIGHTER was a bit rank leaving the gate and dropped back, trailed to the turn, asked two wide then angled out approaching the stretch, finished well and got up for third. LOVE CANDY chased widest up the backstretch, traveled three to four wide around the bend, kept trying down the lane but got edged for third. BOBBY'S ALIBI tracked from inside, dropped back on the turn, stayed inside to the lane, kept on through the lane but needed to find more. J T'S WATCH antsy in the gate, stalked off the rail, driven two wide into the lane and lacked further response. NO D'ORO displayed good early foot to seized control, led along the inside then two wide late on the bend, took pressure entering the lane, yielded in upper stretch and weakened.
