HORNSBY was lightly brushed at the start, chased the pace close up racing three wide into the turn, bid between runners about the five-sixteenths, vied from that point before taking the lead in upper stretch, was challenged by outside foes but dug in late to hold sway. PIO NONO was outpaced early, swung eight wide into upper stretch, drifted in a bit while rallying, gained late but just missed. RIDING BY was off the early pace, advanced between runners coming to the quarter pole, came into upper stretch six wide, drifted in a bit in mid-stretch while making a bid for the lead, put a narrow head in front briefly then flattened out. JAMES J. BRADDOCK lacked early speed inside, angled out in upper stretch and gained late. CHARMZ AWAY chased in behind near the inside, came into upper stretch three to four deep, was in range then placed in tight quarters and steadied slightly past the eighth pole. PAX A PUNCH settled off the pace, swung nine wide, passed tired rivals. THREE WIRE brushed a rival lightly at the start, was up close chasing four wide into and on the turn, weakened in the stretch and came in a bit lightly bumping a rival while tiring. FALCON WINGS brushed a rival lightly at the start, forced the pace from off the rail, came up empty. HOT TIGER NIGHTS was lightly brushed at the start, chased from outside mid-pack four to five wide on the turn, failed to menace.
