Footnotes
ATITLAN reserved in the early going while angling to the inside on the first turn, pulled from the five-eighths pole to the nine-sixteenths marker and had to steady, traveled along the rail into the final turn, angled four wide around the bend, drew alongside the leader past the eighth pole and drove clear. DIVIN PROPOS (FR) tracked outside a rival early, altered out crossing over the dirt, traveled three then four deep around the clubhouse turn, drew closer four wide in the middle stages, bid three deep with three furlongs remaining, cleared and crossed over at the quarter pole, challenged by the winner past the eighth pole, yielded to that rival and stayed on to secure second. GOLD PHOENIX (IRE) settled inside off the pace, moved into range on the clubhouse turn, crept closer on the backstretch, got boxed in and had to steady around the third turn, angled to the inside in the lane and finished well while moving back out late but could not get by DIVIN PROPOS (FR) for second. EASTER (FR) broke a step slow and got shuffled back, pulled early the early stages, tugged forward between rivals on the backstretch, chased two to three wide around the final turn, followed in range to the eight pole and failed to produce a bid. WIZARD OF WESTWOOD rated along the inside, moved into the two path on the clubhouse turn, bid between horses early on the backstretch,, dueled past the half-mile pole, fought between rivals on the far turn, could not kick on with the new leader with a quarter mile remaining and faded. BALLADEER bobbled and broke inward at the start, went up to take command and show the way along the inside, controlled the pace to the five-eighths pole, took pressure from a pair of rivals shortly after, dueled along the rail past the half-mile pole, fought with outer foes to the quarter pole and folded. MEGAYACHT bobbled leaving the gate, pulled along the inside then shifted out crossing surfaces, continued to tug while moving out three deep first time in the stretch, went two then three wide around the last turn and came up empty in the drive. MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH was closest in pursuit in the two path, jumped onto the dirt and shifted out, moved back to the two path, went two then three wide around the clubhouse turn, bid three deep at the nine-sixteenths pole, failed to keep up past the half-mile pole, steadied between rivals entering the far turn, dropped back to last around the bend and had little left for the stretch run.
