CANANI stalked the lone speed along the rail inside a rival, was patiently handled through the far turn, gained a clear path at the top of the lane and launched a bid, put a head in front midstretch and drove clear. GOING NOWHERE tracked three wide into the first turn, moved into the two path then tipped back three wide around the bend, continued in those paths on the second bend before angling out with a quarter mile left to run, challenged four deep turning for home, put a head in front in upper stretch, then got outkicked by the winner in the furlong grounds. ANNAN unhurried in the opening stages and moved inside, trailed up the backstretch, saved ground to the lane, finished well down the stretch and almost got up for second. FIGHT BACK trailed in the two path around the first turn, had once beat in the middle stages, gained three, four, then five wide around the far turn, lugged in through the lane but still finished willingly for a minor award. JUST A GRAZE was forwardly placed outside a rival, challenged from outside with three furlongs remaining, gained the lead briefly in upper stretch before being overtaken and weakened in the furlong grounds. MAXVILLE settled three then two wide early, moved up outside rivals in the middle stages, bid three deep on the far turn, fought to the eighth pole and weakened. GLASS OF JAMESON reserved between rivals then angled to the inside, tipped two wide into the lane, moved out further in the drive and failed to menace. FINCAIRN traveled off the pace on the inside then in the two path, lacked room from leaving the backstretch, chased two then three wide on the second bend, tipped out and weakened. SIR TOM stumbled leaving the gate, recovered quickly and took control from outside, crossed over into the two path then found the rail around the first turn, challenged from outside at the three-eighths pole, resisted to top of the lane, then lost command in upper stretch and gave way.
