READY TO POUNCE raced up close to the outside of the pacesetter, latched onto that rival leaving the backstretch, took over in upper stretch and maintained a short lead over JOINT VENTURE to the line. JOINT VENTURE stepped to the front and crossed over from the three path to the inside around the first turn, met the bid from READY TO POUNCE at the seven-sixteenths pole, fought along the rail through the turn, lost command outside the eighth pole and stayed on well to secure second. SAQEEL stalked from inside, coaxed along at the half-mile pole then decided to stay in a stalking position leaving the backstretch, waited for room behind the leaders around the far turn, moved out a bit and roused in the lane but finished evenly late. KEEP MOVIN' ON chased in the three path through both turns and weakened in the drive. ROYAL 'N RANDO hopped slightly at the start, trailed along the inside, went two wide into the drive and came up empty.
