Footnotes
SHARED FUTURE vied in the two path then between rivals to the far turn, yielded to the top pair midway around the bend, tipped out in upper stretch, came back on and overhauled the runner-up. THERESASILVERLININ raced up close outside the top pair then challenged for command on the backstretch, dueled outside BESSIE COLEMAN past the five-sixteenths pole, put that rival away in upper stretch, led to midstretch and got run down by the winner in the last sixteenth. NANCI GRIFFITH stumbled a bit leaving the gate, settled in the two path, moved closer between foes, chased three deep at the quarter pole, put in a bid down the stretch, flattened out in the late stages but was able to hold third. LADY RIDER stalked three wide early, traveled outside a pair of rivals into the far turn, chased four deep with a quarter mile remaining, launched a bid in the lane but also flattened out. BESSIE COLEMAN showed good speed from inside, fought with outer rivals up the backstretch, dueled along the fence past the five-sixteenths pole and weakened down the lane. CHAI pulled the rider along the inside on the first turn, stalked inside foes up the backstretch, hugged the rail to the stretch and weakened.
