HAPPYASACLAM (IRE) bumped with inner rival at the start, stalked three then two wide around the first turn, followed the top pair outside a rival up the backstretch, rounded the second bend two then three wide, challenged from outside into the lane, took over shortly after and held gamely to the wire. DOUBLE CAPPUCCINO raced up close in the two path, pressed from outside up the backstretch, dueled around the far turn and put a head in front at the quarter pole, lost command in upper stretch but continued to fight back from inside and stayed on to the wire. G'ORO bumped leaving the gate, settled inside, raced in range while angling out at the quarter pole, launched a bid in upper stretch, fought three deep into the final sixteenth and got outgamed by the top pair. NAKOTA (IRE) traveled along the rail towards the rear early on, stayed on the fence through the far turn, tipped out at the top of the lane, kept on trying through the final furlong but lacked the needed final kick. CATHOLIC CAT raced two wide near the back of the pack, made progress around the far turn before getting floated out at the quarter pole, chased within striking distance down the lane but finished evenly late. BIG LEAP stalked from inside to the far turn, chased two wide past the five-sixteenths marker, was ridden along into the lane and weakened. BOUGIE LIKE set the pace from inside, took pressure up the backstretch, lost command dueling on the far turn, yielded at the top of the lane, got put in tight at the eighth pole and faded. HOLLY GOQUICKLY (FR) trailed from the rail position around the first turn, went two wide into the second bend, got floated out at the quarter pole, bobbled shortly after and had the rider lose his right iron, Hernandez regained his footing in upper stretch, was eased in the final furlong and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT BETWEEN G'ORO, CATHOLIC CAT AND HOLLY GOQUICKLY (FR) LATE ON THE TURN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT NO ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN.
