SUPERSONIC BLUE received a shoe repair in the paddock, sped clear and moved to the inside for the turn, controlled the pace down the hill, asked right handed at the top of the lane, met bids from outer rivals with a furlong remaining, resisted into the final sixteenth and held gamely to the line. CALI CAT bobbled a bit leaving the gate, stalked outside TOUGHNESS down the hill, chased three wide leaving the dirt, challenged in upper stretch, fought between rivals in the late stages, lacked the needed final kick to get by the winner but was able to edge ARTISLAS for the place honors. ARTISLAS sat off the pace in the opening stages, moved into range from the rail on the turn, angled out across the dirt, rallied three deep and missed second. MUSCLED traveled two wide off the pace, drew to within striking distance on the turn, steered out over the dirt, launched a bid four deep in upper stretch but finished evenly in the late stages. INCANTO (IRE) away well then dropped back and trailed early, saved ground next to the fence around the bend, steered out crossing the dirt, kept on down the lane but needed to find more. TOUGHNESS stalked the pacesetter from inside, chased two wide leaving bend and weakened.
