FIRENZE FLAVOR tracked in the two path around the first turn, remained in the two path into the far turn, angled three then four wide around the second bend, stormed to the front with a furlong remaining, kicked clear into deep stretch and held over the late run from the runner-up. SUNSET GRAZEN settled next to the fence, saved ground through the far turn, angled out in the lane, finished well and drew alongside the winner late but ran out of time. EMPRESS MATILDA (GB) raced outside the pacesetter three deep, chased in the three path through the far turn, challenged in upper stretch but flattened in the late stages. RESOLVE rated in the two path then moved up to press the pace early on the backstretch, chased in the two path around the far turn, stayed within range to midstretch, then weakened in the last sixteenth. ATIA was a bit keen stalking in hand from inside, waited next to the fence leaving the second bend, put the brakes on when lacking room in upper stretch, gained a clear path past the eighth pole and kept trying to the wire. PREEM was bothered by RESOLVE coming out a bit at the start, sent for the front and crossed over once clear of the field, took pressure early on the backstretch, cleared midway around the far turn, challenged again in upper stretch, lost command at the eighth pole and folded.
