CAROL'S COMIC raced in range outside a rival, chased three then four wide around the turn, rallied to the front midstretch, drifted out late and held over the runner-up. HALO UNCLE sat off the pace outside rival, eased out to the four path around the bend, angled out further at the top of the stretch, finished determinedly outside CAROL'S COMIC while getting floated out a bit by that rival late and failed to go by. IDIOT'S GOLD got bumped with outer rival early on the backstretch, stalked the top pair to the turn, got boxed in while racing in the two path around the turn, roused late on the bend and angled in entering the stretch, bid from inside but got outkicked by the top pair. HAVOC forwardly placed outside a rival in the early going, chased three deep or three wide on the turn, challenged in upper stretch but flattened out in the late stages. HARCYN bumped with IDIOT'S GOLD and steadied early, raced in range along the inside into the turn, chased two wide leaving the bend, altered in from behind rivals past the eighth pole and flattened out. GOLDENSUNRISE dueled from outside, put away inner rival past the five-sixteenths pole, showed the way in the two path coming into the stretch, clung to a short lead at the eight pole, yielded midstretch and weakened in the last sixteenth. TAMARANDO STAR brushed leaving the gate, climbed early and dropped back, raced along the rail into the turn, trailed three wide into the stretch and passed tired rivals. BARSABAS coaxed along early from off the pace, saved ground through the turn and failed to respond. STAN FROM MALIBU brushed with TAMARANDO STAR leaving the gate, dueled from inside to the five-sixteenths pole, could not kick on with the leader after, chased along the rail into the stretch and tired. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE TOP TWO FINISHERS LATE IN THE RACE. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT ALTHOUGH CAROL'S COMIC DID DRIFT OUT AND FLOAT HALO UNCLE OUT A BIT LATE, THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
