CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN stalked in the two path then pressed between rivals around the clubhouse turn, headed the leader at the midway point, spurted away approaching the five-sixteenths pole and opened up around the bend, padded the lead in upper stretch and tacked on a few more lengths while ridden out to the wire. BROTHER O' BRIEN stalked along the inside, coaxed along up the backstretch from the fence, shifted to the two path around the far turn, chased between rivals at the eighth pole and bested the rest. MISCHIEF'S THIRSTY settled in the two path, lacked room at the half-mile pole, rounded the second bend two then three wide and got outkicked for second down the lane. SUPERMAZEL stumbled leaving the gate, tracked four then three wide around the first turn, passed tired rivals on the far turn, spun three wide into the lane and improved position. TOUCH OF ZEN chased three wide, coaxed along out of range up the backstretch, went four deep into the far turn, stayed wide to the stretch and failed to menace. CHIEF JACKSON tracked in the two path, chased two wide into the far turn, moved into second around that bend, then flattened out in the furlong grounds. LITTLEBROTHERJOEY took control early and set the pace under pressure from outer rivals, dueled at the midway point, lost command at the seven-sixteenths pole, weakened around the far turn and gave way. ROISTER stalked in the three path, dropped back around the far turn, came four wide into the lane and had little left for the stretch. MOVIETIME raced four deep around the first turn, chased outside rivals up the backstretch, dropped back three then two wide on the far turn and was done early.
