MARIA TALLCHIEF hit the gate and bumped inner rival at the start, chased from off the pace then moved into range from inside, moved into the two path around the bend, tipped out further at the top of the stretch, rallied between rivals into deep stretch and proved best late. ELSA DUTTON tracked out of range off the rail, drew closer three deep on the turn, rallied three deep in the last sixteenth and got outclosed by the winner. FLASH THAT SMILE was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, raced along the inside into the turn, tipped out and drew alongside the leader approaching the quarter pole, put SMILING FOREVER away in midstretch, came under threat from outer rivals at the sixteenth pole and got outkicked in the final fifty yards. SMILING FOREVER sprinted clear and crossed into the two path, found the rail on the turn, challenged from outside at the quarter pole, lost command in upper stretch and yielded in the furlong grounds. BIG WHOOSH coaxed along off the pace early, took the turn four then three wide, whittled the gap on the leaders in the final furlong but failed to threaten. ROSIE ANN RULES stalked off the rail then outside a rival up the backstretch, chased between foes around the turn, spun three wide into the lane, altered inward in upper stretch and could not rally. FIRECRACKER MOLLY got bumped inward leaving the gate, trailed up the backstretch, saved ground through the turn and could not make an impact.
