NITTI (IRE) saved ground from off the pace, picked up stride on the far turn when roused, moved out in upper stretch, rallied inside the top pair in the last sixteenth and edged SPYCATCHER in the end. SPYCATCHER dueled from inside into the first turn, inched ahead around the bend, lost command while dueling up the backstretch, regained the advantage near the five-sixteenths pole, lugged out while battling with ZALAMO (FR) midstretch, came back in the last sixteenth and could not hold NITTI (IRE) in the closing moments. ZALAMO (FR) forwardly placed three deep, took over at the nine-sixteenths pole, dueled past the half-mile pole, gave the lead back to SPYCATCHER dueling around the far turn, battled into the final furlong, lugged out midstretch and got outfinished by the top pair. LOTTERY PICK stalked from inside, angled out at the top of the lane, began to lug out, then drifted in while finished willingly late. COALINGA ROAD settled in the two path between rivals, continued a bit off the rail around the second bend, angled out into the lane and finished with a belated rally. MEGAYACHT bumped a few times with outer rival leaving the gate, stalked in the two path between rivals to the nine-sixteenths marker, continued two wide around the far turn, cut in at the top of the lane and lacked a bid. LAHAINA FLAVOR tracked three deep around the clubhouse turn, chased three wide around the second bend, tipped out at the top of the lane and lacked further response. EL REY REY showed early speed but started to pull and became rank early, pressed the pace from outside around the clubhouse turn, stalked the top pair past the nine-sixteenths pole, chased three then two wide on the second bend and weakened. INVIGORATED broke in and bumped MEGAYACHT a few times, trailed two to three wide around the clubhouse turn, stayed off the rail to the stretch, moved out in the lane and was never a factor. FREEPORT JOE became very rank in the opening stages, traveled four deep around the clubhouse turn, moved into range while still fighting the rider at the five-eighths pole, launched a bid four deep into the far turn but failed to sustain the challenge around the bend, chased three wide into the lane and flattened out.
