Footnotes
SANTA BARBARIAN came in some at the start, was closest in pursuit from the two path early, drew alongside the leader past the halfway marker, put a head in front in upper stretch, maintained a short lead over HIGH KING through the final furlong and held gamely. HIGH KING established the front along the inside, took pressure from SANTA BARBARIAN past the half-mile pole, resisted to the top of the lane, lost command in upper stretch, stayed on well from inside and finished a game second. GRAY THUNDER broke out and bumped with MAXVILLE, stalked from the fence, eased over to the two path midway around the far turn, moved out further in upper stretch, finished well outside the top pair but lacked the needed final kick. MAXVILLE came in and bumped with GRAY THUNDER leaving the gate, saved ground at the back through both turns and was never a factor. NON DOMICILE broke a step slow, stalked two wide to the far turn, moved out to the three path by GRAY THUNDER midway around the far turn and weakened in the drive. OUTWORKER refused to leave the gate. THE STEWARDS REVIEWED THE START OF OUTWORKER AND RULED THAT HE CAUSED HIS OWN PROBLEMS AT THE START AND IS CONSIDERED A STARTER.
