JAMES J. BRADDOCK bumped leaving the gate, dueled from outside to the turn, put away inner rival but had to contend with HE'SQUITE MISCHIEF to the outside, lost command around the turn in the two path, found the rail late on the bend, regained the lead outside the eighth pole, cleared midstretch and was able to hold over the late charge from CHARLEY PRIDE in the closing moments. CHARLEY PRIDE got pinballed at the start, climbed early from off the pace, went two wide around the bend while drawing closer, had to alter in a bit from behind a rival at the eighth pole, surged late and just missed. RIDING BY broke in and bumped CHARLEY PRIDE, climbed while chasing the top runners on the backstretch, went two wide into the turn, spun four wide into the lane, put in a bid in upper stretch but flattened in the late stages. NAVAL HARBOR dueled for the lead from inside, yielded to outer rivals early on the turn, saved ground to the stretch and churned on for a minor award. HE'SQUITE MISCHIEF attended the pace three deep, took over dueling from outside on the turn, lost command in upper stretch and weakened in the furlong grounds. HIGHLAND ECHO chased outside a rival early on, exited the backstretch in the three path, moved out to the five path around the bend, stayed wide to the stretch and weakened. OSCAR PRODUCTION broke inward and almost jumped the temporary rail in the beginning, trailed along the inside into the turn, dropped further back around the bend and had little left for the stretch run.
