Footnotes
SMOOTH SALUTE got bumped and forced out leaving the gate, settled at the back, went two wide around the clubhouse turn, passed a rival on the backstretch, advanced three wide around the far turn, closed in down the lane, drew alongside the runner-up late and got up in time. ONE OF THESE DAYS (IRE) stalked from inside, challenged the leader from outside at the seven-sixteenths pole, took over between rivals with three furlongs remaining, dueled inside NAISMITH past the five-sixteenths pole, put that rival away in upper stretch, showed the way into deep stretch, came under pressure from SMOOTH SALUTE late and got nailed in the shadow of the wire. NAISMITH tracked in the two path early on, bid three deep at the seven-sixteenths pole, dueled outside ONE OF THESE DAYS (IRE) midway around the second bend, could not kick on with that rival in upper stretch, flattened late but still finished a clear third. BID ON THE PRIZE settled inside rivals, drifted out a bit early on the first turn, followed from mid-pack up the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn, tipped out leaving the bend, gained a minor award and rounded out the superfecta. GENTLEMEN'S CLUB came out leaving the gate, settled three deep, traveled in the four then three path on the clubhouse turn, remained three deep up the backstretch, moved into the two path quickly on the far turn while moving into range only to flatten down the lane. BIG JUANITO led through the opening stages on the inside, challenged by a pair of rivals leaving the backstretch, lost command with three furlongs left to run, yielded those rivals at the five-sixteenths pole, chased along the rail into the lane and tired. DANCING PORKY came out and bumped the winner leaving the gate, laid off the pace outside rivals early, took the turn five then four wide, fell back to last in the middle stages, angled to the rail on the far turn and passed a tired rival in the lane. ACERO chased between rivals from off the pace, lost ground in the two path on the second bend and tired in the drive.
