Footnotes
LEAD PIPE JOE stalked the pacesetter outside a rival, bid three deep on the turn, dueled with MR. MACHUPICCHU in the final furlong and dug in late to prove best. MR. MACHUPICCHU stalked the pacesetter from off the rail, clipped that rivals heels past the five-eighths pole, went three wide into the turn, challenged outside the leader then between rivals on the turn, took over in upper stretch, dueled with LEAD PIPE JOE in the furlong grounds and yielded grudgingly. JAGUAR JON sped clear to take the front, lost his action when getting clipped from behind past the five-eighth but recovered quickly, took pressure from a pair of rivals on the turn, lost command in upper stretch, weakened in the late stages but was able to save third. CLEMENTS RIDE chased outside rivals or five wide into the turn, spun three wide into the stretch, lacked the necessary bid down the lane but kept trying only to miss third. I AM AMADEO raced in range then dropped back off the pace up the backstretch, angled in on the turn and saved ground to the stretch but proved no menace. STAN FROM MALIBU broke a step slow at the start, pulled early between rivals, chased in the six path leaving the backstretch, moved into the four path around the bend and weakened. CAPTAIN WILLIS got crowded between rivals and began to climb early, trailed three wide into the turn, quickly moved into the two path and failed to make an impact.
