WOUND UP sprinted clear and set the tone in the early going, led along the inside then two wide late on the bend, drifted out under left handed urging in upper stretch, switched to the right handed near the eighth pole, drifted out a bit more in deep stretch and held over the runner-up. GRUBAUER bumped with outer rival leaving the gate, was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, chased two then three wide on the turn, angled outside the drifting leader in upper stretch, drew alongside that rival past the sixteenth pole but failed to get by. POSITIVITY saved ground trailing the field, angled off the fence in the drive and gained third. HARD TO FIGURE chased two wide leaving the backstretch, angled to the rail early on the turn, saved ground to the stretch, lacked the needed rally and lost third. REXFORD got bumped between rivals in the beginning, chased from off the pace on the inside, got put in a bit tight by HARD TO FIGURE early on the bend, tipped three wide into the clear and failed to threaten. LEFT HAND MAN got bumped and crowded shortly after the start, raced outside a rival at the back into the turn, went two to three wide around the bend and failed to menace. FEEL THE MAGIC tracked three deep, moved into the two path on the turn and had little left for the stretch run. THE JOCKEY OF GRUBAUER CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER ABOARD WOUND UP FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT ALTHOUGH WOUND UP DID FLOAT OUTWARD IN THE STRETCH, HE WAS CLEAR AND DID NOT COST GRUBAUER A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
