Footnotes
SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING tracked four wide around the clubhouse turn, bid three wide on the far turn, fought outside MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH coming into the stretch, seized command in upper stretch and maintained a short lead over the runner-up through the final furlong. MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH raced up close outside the leader early, stalked up the backstretch, drew alongside PACKS A WAHLOP again at the seven-sixteenths pole, took over midway around the bend, put away inner rival then fought with SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING at the quarter pole, lost command in upper stretch, stayed on gamely inside the winner and was clearly second best. EXTENSIVE raced in range early from the two path, came under urging still two wide on the second bend, proved no match for the top pair down the stretch but was able to best the rest. TARANTINO stalked the pace from inside, coaxed along the fence on the far turn, shifted to the two path at the quarter pole and could not rally. IL BELLATOR settled four wide, crept closer up the backstretch, chased three deep at the five-sixteenths pole and failed to rally. PACKS A WAHLOP took control early, led in the two path around the clubhouse turn, moved inside on the backstretch, challenged by MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH into the far turn, yielded at the five-sixteenths pole and gave way in the lane. ARROWTHEGREAT traveled along the inside at the back in the early going, saved ground through the far turn and could not make an impact.
