HAYWOOD bumped leaving the gate, grabbed the early lead, took pressure from JAGUAR JON on the turn, maintained a short lead to midstretch, cleared JAGUAR JON in deep stretch and held over the late run from HALO RANDO in the final strides. HALO RANDO broke a step slow, moved up inside, lacked room behind HAYWOOD coming into the stretch, angled out into the clear and finished gamely for second. JAGUAR JON raced up close on the outside, drew alongside HAYWOOD on the turn, fought into the final furlong but could not find the needed late kick in deep stretch. WEGONAHAVAGOODTIME bumped with HAYWOOD at the start, chased inside then shifted off the fence, rounded the bend two wide, moved out into the lane and failed to produce a bid. IDIOT'S GOLD chased three deep into the turn, spun four wide into the lane and weakened. MOTHER'S PRAYER lagged behind early, raced along the inside then two wide into the stretch and never got involved. THE RIDER OF HALO RANDO CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER ABOARD HAYWOOD FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE COMING INTO THE STRETCH. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT HALO RANDO TRIED TO GO THROUGH A SPOT WITH INSUFFICIENT ROOM AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
