Footnotes
CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN dueled briefly into the first turn from outside then took a stalking position, moved up to challenge three deep for command in the middle stages, dueled outside LEYAS CANDY with three furlongs left to run, disposed of that rival in upper stretch under left handed urging, then held safely under some right handed encouragement in deep stretch. READY TO POUNCE tracked along the rail then quickly moved to the two path on the clubhouse turn, chased four wide exiting the backstretch, moved in and entered the lane in the two path, moved back out in the drive and finished willingly to gain the place honors. LEYAS CANDY reserved in the early going but began to pull the rider forward late on the first turn, continued to move up inside and fought with outer rivals for command on the backstretch, dueled inside CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN around the far turn, yielded to that rival in upper stretch, kept on trying through the final furlong and earned third. ZEYARAAT raced three deep at the back into the first turn, dropped back and angled to the rail around that bend, lagged behind two wide then along the rail on the far turn and passed tired rivals from the fence but failed to be a factor. ZIMBA WARRIOR settled in the two path, asked while angling four wide on the far turn and lacked a rally. NAUVOO dueled from inside into the first turn then took control around the bend, came under threat from both sides on the backstretch, could not keep up with the top pair with three furlongs remaining, started to weakened around the far turn and tired. MAN CHILD traveled in the three path off the pace early, coaxed forward in the middle stages, chased five then four wide on the second bend and had little left for the drive.
