PAPA LOVE'S VEGAS sped clear from outside and angled across for the turn, met the challenge from PIPER'S CAUSEWAY past the quarter pole, lost command while drifting slightly over the dirt, fought back to reclaim the lead at the eighth pole, fought head to head through the final furlong and gamely prevailed. PIPER'S CAUSEWAY stalked the pacesetter in the early going, challenged from outside past the quarter pole, gained the advantage, running over the dirt, relinquished the lead back to PAPA LOVE'S VEGAS at the eighth pole, battled on to the wire and came up just short. SIR ROCKET stalked from inside, tried to come up the rail at the top of the lane but had the hole close and had to alter out into the clear, surged late three deep but ran out of time. ANNAN tracked between then angled in for the turn, moved out across the dirt and kept on to round out the superfecta. UNCLE CHILLY unhurried in the opening stages, saved ground around the bend, moved out across the dirt and never threatened. MIO BAMBINO traveled in mid-pack early, went two to three wide, got floated out crossing the dirt and lacked the needed response. THE SHILLELAGH laid off the pace, traveled outside a rival on the turn, steered out across the dirt and failed to rally. BID ON THE PRIZE raced near the back in the early going, saved ground around the bend and proved no menace. SHARONA'S WILD BOY raced in range two wide, drifted out over the dirt, came out more at the top of the lane and weakened. CATMANSUE allowed to settle in the early going, moved to the inside, tipped three wide around the turn, angled out crossing surfaces, chased between rivals at the top of the lane and could not rally. CARDIFF CRACK broke a step slow, trailed on the inside into the turn, angled out leaving the bend and was never a factor.
