Footnotes
FIREMAN DAN stalked from the four path early, bid between the top pair into the far turn, put a head in front at the quarter pole, moved clear in upper stretch and was kept to task to the line. PETESOLDFASHIONED dueled for the lead around the first turn and up the backstretch, fought with outer pair around the bend, yielded to the winner coming into the lane, stayed on from the fence and held second. MONGOLIAN MAX settled a bit off the rail or in the two path early, trailed up the backstretch, passed a tired rival on the far turn, came with a late rally but could not get by PETESOLDFASHIONED for second. BE PUNCTUAL bobbled a bit then sent for the lead, dueled in hand outside a rival in the three path around the first turn, inched ahead on the backstretch, vied three deep on the second turn, yielded to FIREMAN DAN in upper stretch and weakened in the furlong grounds. UNCHARTED tracked four then three wide around the first turn, drew closer in the middle stages while moving inward, dropped back next to the fence on the far turn and tired down the lane.
