Footnotes
TIGHT SQUEEZE allowed to settle in the early going, traveled near the rail or in the two path around the bend, angled out at the top of the lane, struck the front without being asked, kicked clear under some right handed urging and remained well clear under flagging from the crop. PRESS YOUR LUCK trailed along the inside into the turn, angled out and came three wide into the stretch, moved out further in the lane, unleashed a rally to to gain second but could not threaten the winner. ELLEN JORTH stalked outside a rival, moved out at the top of the stretch and gained third. HURRICANE LAYLA was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, challenged from outside on the turn, fought on even terms turning for home, could not kick on with TIGHT SQUEEZE midstretch and flattened to fourth. SPOTTED HAZE broke well and established an early lead, met the bid from HURRICAN LAYLA on the turn, resisted to the eighth pole, yielded midstretch and weakened in the late stages. A FLEET RIDE got crowded a bit early, traveled outside a rival near the back into the turn, remained two wide to the stretch and was never a factor. HOW ABOUT PAVEL stalked along the inside, moved out in upper stretch and weakened. LIL' BIT BOSSY broke well but quickly became hard to ride in the early going and dropped off the pace, saved ground near the back and was never a factor.
