Footnotes
HAPPY SUE showed the way early under pressure from BORDER CONTROL to the inside, cleared that rival and moved inside past the five-sixteenths pole, led a bit off the rail into the stretch, then drew off when roused and was lightly coaxed through deep stretch. DORIE MILLER stalked along the rail into the turn, moved out a bit on the bend then altered inside BORDER CONTROL past the five-sixteenths pole, took aim at the winner entering the final furlong but could not make any late headway and bested the rest. BORDER CONTROL prompted the pace from inside, lost contact with the winner and shifted to the two path around the bend, weakened in the lane but was able to secure third. COIFFEUR stalked off the rail then was ridden along three deep leaving the backstretch, lost ground three then four wide on the turn and weakened. THIRSTY TRICKSTER threw her head and came away slow, trailed up the backstretch, coaxed along the rail on the turn and was never a factor. GOODNIGHT NELLIE tracked off the rail then went between rivals, chased two then three wide on the turn and faded.
