MRS. ASTOR stalked the top pair outside MAHINA through the opening stages, chased in the two path through the far turn, moved out and drew alongside the leaders in midstretch, dug in four deep late and got up nearing the wire. MAHINA stalked the leaders along the rail, moved off the fence in upper stretch, altered in from behind the top pair in midstretch, came with a late bid from inside and just missed. STARRY HEAVENS (IRE) prompted the pace from outside, sustained the pressure through the final turn, headed KENTUCKY GAL (IRE) midstretch, put a head in front inside the sixteenth pole but got outkicked by the top pair in the closing moments. KENTUCKY GAL (IRE) established the front from inside while taking pressure from STARRY HEAVENS (IRE), maintained a short lead over that rival to the top of the stretch, resisted to the sixteenth pole and yielded grudgingly to the top trio late. PARIS SECRET (IRE) reserved in the early going and steered to the inside, followed in range into the far turn still next to the fence, shifted to the two path, asked right handed turning for home and lacked the needed response down the lane. QUEEN LECA (URU) trailed on the inside in the early going, coaxed along outside a rival into the far turn, lost ground around that bend and found the rail past the quarter pole, then faded through the stretch run.
