HOPEFUL (GB) broke a step slow, pulled two wide around the first turn, traveled in mid-pack up the backstretch, chased two then three wide on the far turn, bid four deep into the final furlong, put a head in front past the sixteenth pole and held over the runner-up. LAUDATORY bumped leaving the gate, sat off the pace on the inside, angled out into the stretch, rallied from outside but could not get by the winner. ETERNAL REIGN (IRE) chased from the two path to the far turn,, came three wide into the stretch, bid three deep in upper stretch, took over at the eighth pole but yielded in the last sixteenth. WINK AND A GRIN broke a step slow, raced on the inside near the back around both turns, cut the corner into the lane, moved out in upper stretch, gained between runners, ran into traffic at the sixteenth pole and missed third. MADEIRA WINE stepped to the front outside NEEDLEPOINT (IRE), cleared that rival and moved inside for the first turn, set all the pace to the stretch, relinquished the lead at the eighth pole, stayed on into deep stretch and weakened late. ORIGAMI (IRE) stalked three then two wide early, was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, continued two wide on the far turn, bid between runners a furlong out but flattened in the late stages. PRINCESS EM TOO bumped inner rival leaving the gate, settled along the fence, tipped two wide laving the far turn, chased within striking distance in the final furlong but could not summon the needed late kick. CROSSANNA broke a step slow, angled to the inside trailing the field, steered out and came four wide into the lane and passed tired rivals. NEEDLEPOINT (IRE) showed early quickness then became a bit rank when ceding command to MADEIRA WINE, tracked from inside out of range early on the backstretch, crept closer approaching the far turn, saved ground to the lane and faded. ARIRI (GB) broke a step slow then bobbled shortly after the start, traveled in the two path towards the rear, came three wide into the lane and had little left for the stretch run.
