Footnotes
MESCALERO chased after the leader outside a rival, remained two wide around the bend, drew alongside RENO at the eighth pole and drove clear late. JOE'S CANDY broke inward, sat off the pace in the early going, pursued in range two then three wide on the turn, moved out in upper stretch, showed late effort under left-handed urging and got up for second. RENO sped clear and crossed over then showed the way under a hold up the backstretch, stayed clear on the inside to the stretch, collared by MESCALERO with a furlong remaining, yielded to that rival and got nailed for second. FLAUBERT dropped back early, trailed on the inside then moved to the two path around the bend, angled out in the lane and lacked a rally. KIDDO LIGHT broke well then chased the speed from inside, lost some ground on the turn still on the fence, then faded in the drive.
