CAVALIERI threw her head right before the gate open then hopped at the start, chased three deep into the first turn, moved closer while angling to the two path around the bend, applied pressure to RICHI (CHI) from outside up the backstretch, ridden along through the far turn, fought on even terms coming into the lane, took over in upper stretch, then inched away from the runner-up in the last sixteenth. RICHI (CHI) dueled briefly outside HOWIN then cleared and crossed to the inside on the clubhouse turn, showed the way under pressure from CAVALIERI up the backstretch, maintained a short lead over that rival around the far turn, lost command in upper stretch, kept up with the winner to the sixteenth pole, then lost touch with the winner late and was clearly second best. HOWIN dueled inside RICHI (CHI) into the first turn then took a stalking position next to the fence around the bend, chased the top pair while continuing to save ground, angled out at the top of the lane, could not summon the needed rally but kept on for a clear third. SUGAR FISH rated next to the fence in the early going, moved off the rail in the middle stages, lost ground while being asked in the two path on the far turn and weakened in the lane. LA KIKA (PER) stalked in the two path outside a rival around the first turn, bid outside the top pair at the half-mile pole, dropped back around the far turn, eased in the lane and walked off.
