MONSIEUR BIG fought three deep into the first turn then pressed the leader from outside, took over dueling on the far turn, cleared at the five-sixteenths pole, drew away in upper stretch and was kept busy in the late stages to remain clear to the wire. LUCKY SNIPER tracked along the rail then two wide early, chased between rivals in the two path on the far turn, was no match for the winner in the stretch run but stayed on to secure second. WICKED SPUD trailed the field on the inside early, ridden along at the half-mile marker, passed a rival while traveling in the two path on the far turn, steered four wide into the lane, angled out further at the top of the lane to be widest, put in a mild rally and got up for third. SMOKEM AND LOVE vied along the inside into the first turn then took a stalking position around the bend, asked along the fence then in the two path on the far turn, failed to produce a bid and got edged for the show money. HALNINETHOUSAND sat off the pace three to four wide on the clubhouse turn, went two wide into the second bend, gained while easing over to the three path, tipped out for the stretch run and failed to rally. DESERT HAWK was forwardly placed four deep then moved into the three path on the clubhouse turn, continued outside a pair of rivals into the second bend, took aim three wide turning for home and weakened. FIGHTING THUNDER showed speed between rivals then took control and moved inside, showed the way under pressure up the backstretch, lost command with three furlongs remaining, lost touch with the new leader inside the five-sixteenths pole and tired. TONYS FEVER settled in the two path, moved to the three path briefly before moving back in a bit, ridden along up the backstretch, asked right handed on the far turn and came up empty in the lane.
