Footnotes
ROAST dueled outside COLLMUS up the backstretch and around the turn, vied between rivals turning for home, brushed with COLLMUS while taking over at the top of the stretch, carried a short lead into the last sixteenth and edged clear. COLLMUS fought inside ROAST for early command, battled head to head around the bend, brushed with that rival at the top of the lane, fought to the sixteenth pole, lost touch with but was able to edge CHEEVER for second. CHEEVER stalked the top pair from off the rail, bid three deep past the quarter pole, fought on even terms when losing the crop in upper stretch, lacked the needed late punch under hand urging in the final sixteenth and got nailed for second. UNDER THE BIG SKY was off slow to begin, lagged behind the field in the early going, traveled two then three wide on the turn and passed a tired rival. LANK also came away slow but moved forward, tracked two wide into the turn, started to weaken around the bend and tired.
