Footnotes
FEARLESS SOLDIER vied outside a rival briefly and drifted out a bit crossing over the dirt before clearing first time in the stretch, controlled the pace while opening up a comfortable advantage, carried a diminished lead into the far turn, coaxed along around that bend, roused into the lane, drew away once more in upper stretch and remained well clear under steady handling to the line. BRITISH ISLES away well then was taken in hand and steered across to the inside, traveled off the pace along the rail into the far turn, shifted to the two path at the five-sixteenths pole, finished determinedly down the lane but could only pick up the place. LOTTERY PICK settled outside a rival in the two path, crept closer in the middle stages, moved to within striking distance on the far turn and took aim two wide then along the inside past the quarter pole, could not summon the needed late kick in the furlong grounds and got outfinished for second. JOYRIDER unhurried from the gate, trailed on the inside through both turns, angled out into the lane and passed tired rivals. OUBABE away quickly and dueled briefly inside the winner before ceding command first time in upper stretch, stalked from inside, drew closer past the half-mile pole, lost ground around the far turn and faded down the lane. FIREMAN DAN laid off the pace along the rail, rounded the far turn two to three wide and failed to menace.
