Footnotes
JOINT VENTURE dueled from inside, inched ahead on the backstretch, cleared early on the far turn, roused at the quarter pole, moved off the fence a bit entering the lane, asked left handed in upper stretch, switched to the right past the eighth pole and held TAISHAN at bay. TAISHAN settled off the pace along the fence, drew closer on the backstretch, gained while continuing to save ground through the far turn, took aim from the rail through the lane and finished gamely to the wire but lacked the needed final kick to get by the winner. ZIMBA WARRIOR settled inside, crept closer in the middle stages, put in a mild bid while shifting out to the three path at the three-eighths pole, chased two wide into the lane and flattened out in the final sixteenth. STOP AND A TRES settled in the three path, stayed off the rail up the backstretch, got shuffled behind a rival from the seven-sixteenths pole to the three-eighths marker, tipped out to the four path, remained wide to the stretch and improved position. LANSDOWNE (GB) prominent early in the two path then stalked three wide around the first turn, chased out of range outside a rival in the middle stages then drew closer leaving the backstretch, lost ground around the far turn and had little left for the stretch run. TOM AND JAZZY sent from the gate and dueled three then two wide outside a rival around the first turn, kept the pressure on the leader up the backstretch, failed to keep up early on the far turn, dropped back and moved inside, then tired down the lane. VANZZY tracked in the four path early, continued four wide into the far turn, chased three deep into the lane and tired.
