Footnotes
RED ON SUNDAY chased outside the top pair, rounded the bend three then two wide, moved out to take aim in upper stretch, drew alongside SEATTLE SURF with a sixteenth remaining and drove clear in the final fifty yards. SEATTLE SURF stepped to the front, set the pace under pressure from MAKE IT A LARGE, put that rival away into the lane, confronted by RED ON SUNDAY at the sixteenth pole and yielded late. ARTIST POINT chased off the rail then outside a rival, asked three wide on the turn, showed late effort in the final furlong and edged LAST CALL PAUL for third. LAST CALL PAUL stumbled leaving the gate, trailed on the inside, saved ground through the turn, got brushed in traffic in upper stretch, tipped out a bit into the clear, moved back inside midstretch, rallied along the rail and missed third. MAKE IT A LARGE broke a step slow, went up to press the pace from outside, lost touch with the leader into the lane, stayed close into deep stretch and weakened late. BIG GAIN broke a step slow, climbed early, traveled along the rail or a bit off the fence on the turn, brushed inner rival in upper stretch and failed to threaten. BELLAGIO BAGS broke a step slow, moved into range, chased along the inside, moved into the two path for bit before returning to the inside on the turn and faded.
