Footnotes
UNCLE JOHN pressed three then four deep up the backstretch, chased the leaders three then four wide around the bend, responded well when roused and took control past the eighth pole, cleared shortly after and held sway. CUPID'S CRUSADER was a bit rank early racing off the pace, traveled two wide into the turn, drew closer while finding the rail around the bend, tipped out and split foes entering the final furlong and closed well for a game second. FORTY NINER GOLD went up to duel from outside then vied three deep at the half-mile pole, continued to battle outside a pair of rivals through the turn, inched ahead in upper stretch, lost command past the eighth pole and weakened late. NEW YORK DREAMS (GB) reserved early then moved into range, rounded the bend along the rail then in the two path, had to pause in traffic from upper to midstretch and kept on for a minor award once in the clear. SPIRITIST unhurried in the opening stages, trailed on the inside into the turn, shifted over to the two path and passed a rival around the bend, roused in upper stretch but lacked room from the eighth pole to the sixteenth pole and found clearance too late. SANGER away quickly, stalked between then outside rivals, navigated the turn two then three wide and failed to rally when called upon. EASTBOUND dueled inside a rival then fought with outer pair up the backstretch, maintained a short lead through the turn, lost command into the stretch and weakened in the final furlong. RATLEFF lost his path and steadied early, recovered and went up to fight for the lead between rivals, battled two wide through the turn still between foes, fought to the eighth pole and weakened. RHINO raced up close five deep, chased four wide through the turn and weakened. MISCHIEVOUS DYLAN tracked from inside, got put in tight along the rail at the three-eighths pole, dropped back to last around the bend, eased in the lane and walked off.
