Footnotes
SAFA raced widest of all at the back, advanced six, five, then four wide around the turn, drifted inward in the lane while closing in, reeled in the leader in the final fifty yards and drove past. BARBERA cleared quickly and dictated the pace in the early going, opened up around the turn under coaxing, set down at the top of the stretch, put to the right hand past the eighth pole, carried a diminishing lead still clear approaching the sixteenth pole and could not fend off the winner late. JUST IS stalked the lone leader outside a rival, was closest in pursuit in the two path through the turn, drifted out a bit in upper stretch and churned on to save third. MIRINDA settled well off the pace, went five wide into the turn, advanced while moving into the three path around the bend, got crowded between rivals in upper stretch, recovered and kept to task in the final furlong but could not get by JUST IS for third. EPIONE reluctant to load into the gate, had to steady off heels early, moved out and brushed rival at the half-mile pole, traveled three wide around the turn, two wide into the lane and lacked a rally. LADY MARYANN moved inside racing at the rear, saved ground through the turn, tipped out at the top of the stretch and failed to threaten. NAIDA stalked the pace inside JUST IS to the turn, fell out of range around the bend, cut the corner into the lane and weakened. ROSIE FORECAST traveled off the pace outside a rival, got brushed at the half-mile pole, went four wide into the turn, dropped back to last, entered the lane in the two path and had little left for the stretch run.
