Footnotes
PRIVMAN dueled from outside into the first turn then pressed PONY EXPRESS around the bend and up the backstretch, was ridden along at the three-eighths pole, lost contact with PONY EXPRESS at the five-sixteenths marker, stayed within striking distance into the final furlong, came back on in deep stretch and drove past PONY EXPRESS late. PONY EXPRESS dueled from inside then inched ahead around the clubhouse turn, showed the way with PRIVMAN alongside to the far turn, kicked clear past the five-sixteenths pole, came under a ride entering the lane, asked right-handed inside the eighth pole still holding a comfortable advantage over PRIVMAN, continued clear but with a diminishing lead into the last sixteenth and could not fend off PRIVMAN in the end. GAMING coaxed from the gate, got crowded between rivals and steadied briefly early, settled inside at the back, moved out and passed MINING DISTRICT on the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the two path and lacked the needed rally. MINING DISTRICT stalked in the two path then found the rail around the clubhouse turn, dropped back to last on the backstretch, trailed next to the fence around the far turn and had little left for the drive.
