Footnotes
CAL'S GOAL dueled from outside, cleared inner rival at the three-eighths pole, remained unchallenged through the turn, kicked away in upper stretch under a drive and padded the margin in the final furlong. ALMOST THERE raced up close, took aim two wide turning for home, could not make any headway on the winner down the lane but stayed on to secure second. DR. FILKINS tracked between rivals then moved in a bit, chased two wide around the bend, kept trying down the lane and gained third while no match for the top pair. FLASH OF LIGHTNING was off a bit slow to begin, lost her path when a rival shift out early, had to idle when boxed in from the five-sixteenths pole to the quarter pole, went two wide into the lane and kept on to earn a minor award. DARK BLUE chased from off the pace between rivals leaving the backstretch, found the rail on the turn and failed to rally down the lane. MO BRADLEY was off slow and bothered by outer rival leaving the gate, traveled outside runners at the rear in the early going, took the turn three wide, angled out in the lane and improved position. RIDE THE TIGER dueled from inside up the backstretch, could not keep up and gave chase from the rail around the bend, then weakened in the stretch run. BEEBLEBROX raced in mid-pack up the backstretch, lost ground on the inside around the bend and proved no menace. LUCKY TIGER traveled near the back two wide into the turn, tipped three wide into the lane, shifted out in upper stretch and failed to respond. DESERT HAWK broke a bit slow, trailed along the rail and could not make an impact. THROWTHEFIRSTPUNCH settled off the pace, went three deep into the turn, angled out and came five wide into the stretch and was unable to threaten. JOEY WHERE'D IT GO tracked the speed two wide into the turn, came four wide into the lane and weakened.
