BLAME THE CLASSIC controlled the tempo from inside, took pressure from MISS WILL on the backstretch, held a short lead over a pair of rivals with a quarter mile remaining, had the rider fumble his right rein briefly at the eighth pole, then continued on with a short advantage into deep stretch and held gamely to the line. MISS WILL stumbled slightly leaving the gate, stalked in the two path outside a rival, applied pressure approaching the seven-sixteenths pole, fought between rivals at the quarter pole, hounded BLAME THE CLASSIC down the lane but could not summon the needed late kick to go by. TOPPERS WAGER settled inside, drew closer while moving off the fence on the backstretch, challenged three deep around the far turn, lost touch with the top pair past the eighth pole and held the show. FIGHT BACK rated on the fence in good position, waited for room behind the leader on the far turn, steered out in upper stretch and finished evenly late. IT'S MY WORLD settled off the pace outside TOPPERS WAGER early, trailed two wide into the far turn, continued a bit off the rail into the lane and failed to respond.
