Footnotes
WHATMAKESSAMMYRUN broke a bit awkward to lose a step, trailed up the backstretch, rounded the bend two then three wide, chased four deep in upper stretch, rallied steadily from outside and nailed JETOVATOR on the wire. JETOVATOR cleared the field and crossed over to the inside, confidently handled through the turn, cornered nicely into the lane, roused in upper stretch, met the challenge from COMMANDER (FR) at the eighth pole, resisted into the closing moments but got nailed on the line. COMMANDER (FR) sat off the pace, crept closer three deep on the turn, launched a bid with a furlong remaining but lacked the needed late punch in deep stretch. GREAT KING (FR) tracked in hand early, got boxed in between rivals on the turn, lacked room behind the leaders with a sixteenth to go, move inside but could not regain lost momentum. GIVE ME THE LUTE stalked the lone speed between rivals, moved over to the rail early on the bend, cut the corner into the drive and weakened. FORGIVING SPIRIT stalked three deep early, chased two wide on the turn and also weakened. THIRTY FOUR COUPE stalked the speed inside a pair of rivals, got put in a bit tight at the three-eighths pole, moved out in the lane and weakened. EDDIE'S LAST unhurried in the early going, pulled up past the half-mile pole, eased to the top of the lane and was transported off the track via equine ambulance.
