Footnotes
KAY CUP bumped with a rival at the start, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid in the four path on the turn, was asked coming to the quarter-pole, took over into upper stretch, battled outside of a rival under a drive into the final furlong then drew clear under steady urging. CHARLOTTE'S HEART broke in then was quickly corrected by the rider, settled on the outside, was roused while moving from the three path to the five path on the turn, chased the winner outside in the stretch and willingly earned the place. BERNIEANDTHEROSE brushed with a rival at the start, went to the front then showed the way, was asked under threat while in the two path on the turn, lost the advantage to the winner into upper stretch, battled with that foe while remaining on her inside lead into the final furlong and weakened then lost the place while continuing on her inside lead to the finish but was clear for the show. VALTELLINA bumped with a rival at the start then was hustled, moved in while settling near the back, was taken in hand while getting closer near the half-mile pole, went around the turn in the two path while roused, turned into upper stretch under a drive, moved out in the final furlong and lacked the needed response. ACCELERATING broke awkwardly then bumped with a foe while off with the rest of the field, established a good position down the backstretch, was urged along passing the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground while chasing on the turn and came up empty. HOWLING WIND was fractious just before the break, stumbled at the start then brushed with a foe, drifted out leaving the chute, stalked the pace on the outside, was given her cue near the half-mile pole, made a bid in the three path on the turn, dropped back outside the quarter-pole and capitulated. CRIMSON QUEEN was off slow, moved up under urging then was taken in hand near the nine-sixteenths pole, shifted from the rail to the three path while dropping back on the turn and faltered then was eased but walked off.
