STARS AND STRIDES bumped with rivals on both sides at the start, settled comfortably off the pace, drafted in the two path on the turn, was asked while finding clear room in front at the quarter-pole, gained to make a bid at the three-sixteenths pole, had the runner-up drift in closer to him outside the furlong marker, came out a touch near the eighth-pole, dueled and rubbed saddles with the runner-up in the final furlong and gamely prevailed under a strong hand-ride. MAINSTREAM stumbled badly at the start but broke even with the front, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid leaving the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, took the advantage inside the three-eighths pole, was asked. SECURED LENDER was coaxed along at the rear, gained in the four then five path on the turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, moved to the six path outside the quarter-pole and safely secured the show while no match for the top two. COPIOUS broke in and bumped with a foe then bumped with another rival, checked while pinched back between horses, was taken in hand inside the three-quarter pole then was reserved off the pace, rounded the turn in the three path, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole, swung out to the five path at the quarter-pole and came up empty.
