ROOKIE CARD pressed the pace on the outside, took the lead passing the nine-sixteenths pole, shook clear in the three path early on the turn, responded well when roused in the four path into the stretch, drew away while kept to the task until near the sixteenth-pole then was eased up while much the best. SINGLEMINDED settled on the outside, was urged along late on the backstretch, chased in the four path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path and earned the place while no match for the winner. ANTONIO OF VENICE settled in the front half of the field, chased in the two path through the turn and weakened while able to get the show. VEKOMA RIDES broke out and was off a half-step slow, angled out early then was urged along well off the pace, went around the turn in the two to three path and lacked the needed response. KALAHARI DREAMS settled towards the rear, dropped back from the four path to the three path early on the turn and failed to threaten. INVICTUS broke out at the start, moved out while urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the five path, dropped to the four path into the stretch and came up empty. STARS AND STRIDES brushed the outside of the gate at the start, was urged along near the middle of the field, went around the turn in the three path and came up empty. LANDING CRAFT was well placed just off the pace, dropped back early on the turn, raced inside to the two path on that bend, was driven into upper stretch in the three path and tired. TUNISIAN SPRING was urged along off the pace, rounded the turn in the four path, spun into the stretch in the five path and was no factor. COMMUTED broke a half-step slow, raced near the back, shifted from the rail to the two path on the turn, was taken well out in the track in the stretch and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off. FIFTH AVENUE set the pace under pressure to his outside, lost the lead to the winner passing the nine-sixteenths pole, dropped back along the rail on the turn and stopped then was also eased but walked off.
