STRONG STATE dropped back off the pace, angled in passing the five-eighths pole, lugged out from the two path to the four path under heavy left-rein pressure on the turn, brushed with a rival at the five-sixteenths pole, swung out to the six path into the stretch, rallied outside under a right-handed crop and closed strongly to get up late and prevail. PAULA'S A STAR lost footing some at the start but broke near the front, pressed the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, took the advantage coming to the quarter-pole, inched clear under a drive in upper stretch, led in the final sixteenth but was caught while able to get the place. SARIR showed speed on the inside of foes, dropped back off the pace nearing the half-mile pole, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn, swung out to the four path into upper stretch, kept on in pursuit of the top two in the drive and willingly earned the show. ROSWELL was urged along at the rear, moved in outside the five-eighths pole, saved ground on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and failed to threaten. JUSTTHEFACTSJACK stumbled at the start but broke with the field, was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the four path, was driven into the stretch in the five path and weakened. CLAIRE'S RUN was hustled from the gate, settled on the far outside, was urged along in the five path on the turn, brushed with a rival at the five-sixteenths pole, turned into the stretch in the seven path and came up empty. FANTASTIC FLAME was hustled from the gate, showed speed between horses then set the pace under pressure to her outside, moved from the two path to the rail early on the turn, lost the advantage approaching the quarter-pole and gave way.
