Footnotes
NAVY SEAL (IRE) established a forward position early, raced in the three path on the first turn, was reserved in second behind the clear leader, saved ground on the second turn, quickly moved closer approaching the half-mile pole then made a bid, was taken in hand and let the runner-up go at the three-eighths pole, tracked that foe while asked in the two path on the final bend, gained in the three path into the stretch, made an outside bid at the three-sixteenths pole, dueled outside of the runner-up to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. IL SICILIANO was reserved at the back on the outside in the two to three path mostly without cover, made a big move midway down the backstretch, gained to make a bid with a half-mile to run then took the lead, went clear into the final turn, dropped from the two path to the rail on that bend, was asked near the quarter-pole, spun off the rail into the stretch, dueled gamely inside of the winner in the drive and was denied while clear for the place. BETTRLUCKYTHANGOOD dropped back early, was reserved while inside to the two path, moved closer with a half-mile to run, was held up behind horses while shifting from the two path to the four path on the final turn, came under a drive in upper stretch, drifted in inside the furlong marker and finished willingly to safely secure the show. PADIDDLE settled in the two to three path, moved closer with a half-mile to run, was urged along on the final turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed kick. MAYOR OF MIDNIGHT (IRE) angled in under urging early, was taken under a tight hold into the first turn then dropped back, saved ground while reserved off the pace, advanced closer outside the half-mile pole, was urged along late on the backstretch, went around the final turn in the two then three path, came out to the five path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. TARAJ (IRE) was unhurried while saving ground at the rear, moved closer outside the half-mile pole, came under urging while shifting from the three path to the five path on the far turn, was fanned out seven wide into the stretch then bumped with a foe and failed to rally. L'ANTHARIS (FR) rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved on the inside, moved closer late on the backstretch, saved ground on the final turn, was roused in the three path into the stretch and also failed to rally. STEADFAST RESOLVE was hustled from the gate, settled outside in the two to three path, moved closer near the half-mile pole, went around the final turn in the three then four path, spun into the stretch in the six path then bumped with a foe and failed to threaten. PAPIAMENTO went to the front, traveled around the opening bend in the two path, opened up a sizable advantage, raced inside for most of the second turn then came off the rail, shortened stride off the inside on the backstretch, lost the lead inside the half-mile pole and faded.
