Footnotes
MAKES SENSE raced in the three path on the first turn, chased outside on the backstretch, gained under a strong hand-ride in the four path on the far turn, made a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead into upper stretch, drifted in under a left-handed crop while going clear outside the furlong marker and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. SCOTTISH STORM tucked from the four path to the three path early on the first turn, settled on the outside, was roused inside the half-mile pole, gained while chasing in the three path early on the far turn, shifted to the five path outside the five-sixteenths pole, pursued the winner under a drive into the final furlong and proved no match while able to get the place. LAST MAN STANDING was taken under a hold nearing the first turn, rounded the first turn in the two path, settled just off the pace, was asked while moving from the two path to the three path on the far turn, was driven into the stretch in the four path then shifted further out and lacked the needed response while best of the rest. NO MERLOT was hustled from the gate, saved ground on the first turn, dropped back entering the backstretch then came out and stalked the pace on the outside, turned up the pressure on the leader in the three path on the far turn, passed the five-sixteenths pole on even terms for the lead, turned into upper stretch under a drive and weakened. FREEDOM MAKER bobbled at the start then was hustled to the front, traveled around the opening bend in the two path, showed the way off the inside down the backstretch, vied inside of a rival while in the two path on the far turn, lost the advantage nearing the quarter-pole and faded. CINISTER CIX settled on the inside, was urged along passing the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the far turn and failed to respond. PREPOSITION was last to commence, dropped from the three path to the two path early on the first turn, steadied briefly near the seven-eighths pole, settled at the rear, was urged along late on the backstretch, went around the far turn in the four then three path and faltered.
