Footnotes
FREEDOM'S WAY stumbled at the break, settled tracking the front just off the inside, remained on hold and tipped to the three path at the five-sixteenths, came under coaxing near the quarter pole, tipped four wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, then inched clear to the finish kept to task. CRYSTAL QUEST got away to an awkward first step at the start, saved ground at the tail of the field, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, closed well to just get up for the place honors on the wire. VESTING (IRE) tracked the clear leader in closest aim along the inside isolated between that foe and the main flight in behind, tipped to the two path near the five-sixteenths with the field taking closer order on him and the leader, spun three then two wide set down into upper stretch, seized command with three-sixteenths to go, got collared a furlong out, ran on to the finish and was just bested on the wire for the place honors while clear for the show. CATCH A WAVE saved ground near the rear of the field, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, tipped three wide at the head of the stretch and improved position to the finish. RUNGIUS established the front and showed the way in hand just off the inside safely clear of the rest of the field, tucked inside at the seven-sixteenths, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and spun just off the inside into upper stretch, got collared at the three-sixteenths and weakened in the late stages. NOTED tracked the front three then two wide, came under light and brief coaxing at the three-eighths marker, went three to four wide into upper stretch, faltered and was eased home to the wire.
