Footnotes
DESPO'S DREAM moved to the lead outside the eleven-sixteenths pole then showed the way, was asked in the two path on the turn, lost the advantage passing the five-sixteenths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive, regained the advantage just inside the three-sixteenths pole, shook off a foe under a right-handed crop into the final furlong and held under strong urging. DAISY DUKE came away in front and established a good position just off the pace, was shuffled back behind CATCHPHRASE at the seven-sixteenths pole, came under urging near the three-eighths pole, went around the turn in the two then three path, swung out to the five path into the stretch, drifted out while chasing outside the furlong marker, gained to make a bid in the final sixteenth but just missed while narrowly able to get the place. BEIRA settled on the inside, steadied off heels near the five-eighths pole, continued inside under reserve, steadied again inside the half-mile pole, checked multiple times off heels around the seven-sixteenths pole, was let out then asked some with three furlongs to run, raced inside to the two path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the three path, moved in while picking up stride inside the three-sixteenths pole, rallied to make a bid inside of the winner late but just missed while clear for the show in a tough journey. LOOKS FIRST had her head-turned at the start and was off slow, spotted the front several lengths, settled at the rear of the field, was urged along in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the seven path then drifted further out and improved for the last spot in the superfecta. ELEGANT showed speed and led early, lost the advantage outside the eleven-sixteenths pole then tracked the new leader on the outside, engaged that foe while dropping from the five path to the four path on the turn, took a short lead passing the five-sixteenths pole, led into upper stretch, lost the advantage back to the winner just inside the three-sixteenths pole, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened. PAM PAM was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the three to four path, was driven into the stretch in the six path and failed to rally. FARM HOUSE steadied off heels after running about a sixteenth of a mile then angled in, moved up to be well placed just off the pace, chased inside on the turn and came up empty. CATCHPHRASE stumbled at the start but broke with the field, raced just off the pace, came up empty in the three path early on the turn and retreated then was eased but walked off.
